“On Thursday, September 21st, 2023, the (Refugee Welfare Association Cameroon – REWAC in partnership with MTN Cameroon through MTN Foundation, donated food and other nutritional items to 54 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and people living with disabilities (PLWD) at the Bamenda I municipality in Mendakwe Fon’s Palace,” said a REWAC spokesperson.

The donated items included bags of rice, cooking oil, and more. These supplies will go a long way in supporting the health and nutrition of vulnerable IDPs and PLWD who have been impacted by conflict and hardship in the region.

The donation was made possible by a generous grant from MTN Cameroon as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts. REWAC volunteers helped to distribute the items. The IDPs and PLWD who received the donations expressed their deepest gratitude for their kindness and support.

This charitable act highlights the compassion and humanity that exists even in difficult times. It also shows the power of partnerships between nonprofits and corporations to uplift vulnerable communities. REWAC and MTN Foundation’s collaboration to feed displaced Cameroonians is an inspiration.

The food support comes at a critical time as IDPs and PLWD face immense challenges in meeting their nutritional needs. Initiatives like this one are crucial to ensure their health and survival. Thanks to REWAC and MTN Foundation’s community service, dozens of marginalized people received critical food aid.
